Last week we were thrilled to have U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar visit us and take a factory tour. We chatted with her about our 100 year history, our design process and commitment to making products in America. The Senator took the time to meet with our team; from leather cutters to product developers and spent over an hour getting to know us. Each and every time we give a tour it reminds us what an important role we are playing in creating jobs and supporting U.S. manufacturing, and the Senator couldn’t have agreed more. Here’s what she posted on her Facebook page later that day:
“The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce has been holding workforce training sessions for a reason–we need to train our students for the jobs of the future. There are many skilled workers retiring & at the same time we are seeing an uptick in Made in America manufacturing. J.W. Hulme Co., which I visited yesterday is a good example. Over 100 years ago they started making awnings in St. Paul and now they make beautiful leather purses & packs. They just hired new sewers & are planning to hire more! Check out their showroom at 678 7th Street West St. Paul.”
The best part? We just might have a new customer! Check out the Senator perusing our catalog. We think the Mini Excursion Tote would be perfect for her on the campaign trail. Or any of our fine leather tech accessories, perfect for any woman on-the-go!
Want a factory tour? Give us a call. We love to show off what we do.
