Our bestselling Legacy handbag is featured in the August 2013 issue of InStyle magazine. This mini-version of our Legacy Shoulder Bag is modeled after a classic saddle bag, but with all the fine details of a quality leather handbag. In American Heritage brown leather. Made in our gently distressed leather tanned exclusively for JW Hulme. Each bag is carefully hand-buffed and antiqued. The result: A unique and finely aged keepsake. Made in America, handcrafted in St. Paul, MN.
I’m attaching a shot taken of my SAR dog, relaxing on the Nantucket ferry, after a day of training on the island. I hadn’t intended a “product shot,” so forgive my failing to display the JWH logo!
We’d gone up there to relax after working the Haiti earthquake.
As you can tell, Tejyl was about as comfortable as the bag!
Happened to be looking for another one like it, as it’s getting a bit worn after two years in the dank rainforest environment of Big Island, Hawaii. However, I notice it’s no longer in your catalog.
I can certainly attest to its heartiness and hope you’ll bring it back as it has withstood trips to Indonesia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Haiti…and yes, the “tough” environ of Nantucket Island
Regards, Joe “jody” Fitzgerald
It’s Spring Break for most of the U.S. and rather than sit inside wishing the snow would melt in Minnesota, we are hitting the road with our Mini Legacy — heading south to Florida. The Mini Legacy is the perfect travel companion and we’ll show you just how it’s done. From holding boarding passes to sunscreen, it’s really the ideal size for seeing the sights. So follow along as we trade in our wool socks and boots for flip flops as we explore a little bit of the Sunshine State.

It’s so hard for us to create a men’s gift guide since you just can’t go wrong with the gift of American made — but if we really had to choose a fantastic and luxurious gift for a man-about-town who lugs papers and technology, we can’t think of a better gift than our Document Case.
The Document Case, the most classic of our executive leather briefcases, has been thoughtfully designed with capacity for your computer laptop, books, papers, accessories and more. It stands erect when open for easy access. Made in our gently distressed American Heritage brown leather tanned exclusively for JW Hulme. Each leather briefcase is carefully hand-buffed and antiqued. The result: A unique and finely aged keepsake. Personalize your leather document case with complimentary embossed monogram. Matches our Executive Folio and iPad case.

J.W. Hulme, an American classic since 1905, identified Brooks Brothers, the country’s oldest retailer founded in 1818, as an ally in the American-made movement. We’re honored to partner with this American icon by creating co-branded business cases, duffles and messenger bags in our signature American Heritage brown and Saddle Heritage golden tan leathers, sourced from domestic tanneries. Each piece is hand crafted and buffed by Hulme artisans to create an individual patina that becomes even more beautiful over time.
“Our partnership with Brooks Brothers celebrates and embraces the American-made movement and provides a new approach to traditional styles for men, “ says Jen Guarino, CEO and Co-owner of J.W. Hulme Co. “We’re delighted to align with this brand that also values heritage, quality and the American Dream.”
This exclusive collection is now available in select Brooks Brothers stores including New York (Madison Avenue), Boston (Newbury Street), Washington D.C. (Connecticut Avenue), Chicago (Michigan Avenue), Atlanta (Lenox Square), Houston (The Galleria), and online at brooksbrothers.com.
November has already been a very busy month for us! We designed an original bag for Madonna who recently came through St. Paul on her world tour. The following week, we designed a guitar strap for Bob Dylan and made him a beautiful Graystone Canvas duffle.
Why all this fuss with celebrities? We were invited by the Xcel Energy Center to participate in presenting local gifts to these artists as a thank you for performing at “The X”. We loved the idea and were excited to jump in — it’s just another great way to share our “American Made” message!

There’s a crisis in America. We no longer know how to make things by hand. The art of sewing is something our grandmother’s use to do and the craft of making things has been taken over by screen time.
At J.W. Hulme we are 100% committed to making products here in the U.S. and because of that we want to make sure we have the skilled workforce to do so. That is why we are partnering with a local trade school that trains students how to make things by hand, once again. From now until November 23rd we will be donating 5% of all of our sales to a scholarship fund to support this effort. This is one purchase you can feel good about. As a thank you, if you spend over $300 we will send you a limited edition Hamline pocket journal.
Thank you for your support! Join the movement.

Sewing a guitar strap for Bob Dylan
We’ve just launched three case styles for the new iPhone 5: re-engineered versions of our popular wallet and slip-sleeve designs, plus an entirely new wristlet. Before the iPhone is even released, we comb the internet for iPhone 5 information and specs. But our engineering and product design team likes to have the actual new iPhone in hand before finalizing samples, to ensure key features are accessible and work properly. Then the dies are made, the leather is cut and the sewing begins.
All three styles are made with our premium American Heritage leather and hold not only the iPhone, but have space for ID, a credit card or folded bills. The wristlet has even more capacity, with four card slots, two slip pockets and a zip-pocket; plus a secure closure and generous leather wrist strap. Bonus: our wristlet phone pocket accommodates not only all iPhones, including the 5, but several other smartphone models as well.
Have a different phone? Not to worry! Check out all of our tech cases to find your perfect match!
